What We Do
The EJS project challenges perceptions of the community and its youth by inspiring leadership, equity of opportunity, and supporting stewardship. Together the EJS Project promotes success in teen’s day-to-day and school lives, enables them to serve as catalysts for positive change in their community, and encourages them to dream big as they plan for their future.
Our Programs
At the EJS Project we believe if we focus on our youth’s strengths we can empower them to write their own narrative. We believe our teen’s deserve equity of opportunity and that strong supportive relationships promote change in individuals, organizations and systems. The EJS Project acknowledges racial discrimination and the barriers it has created in communities of color. We are dedicated to teaching truth, challenging systems, and fighting for our youth’s access to opportunity. It is our aim to surround our youth with as many positive and forward thinking adults as possible.
"Together we can do extraordinary things."

'Bout Dat Action
The EJS Project supports youth engagement in city commission meetings, with the Delray Beach Police Department, and the Healthier Delray Beach Initiative.
Project Hub
The EJS Project offers drop-in services for Delray youth. Every weekday afternoon, youth can stop in and complete homework, use the WIFI, and participate in important discussions and projects.
Purpose Pays
This internship program, funded by the Community Foundation, provides summer work experience for youth ages 15 to 18.
E1T1 (Each One, Teach One)
This tutoring program supports students struggling academically with one on one support with the course work and social activities.
Restorative Practices
The EJS Project utilizes Restorative Practices in all aspects of its programming. Restorative practices are multifaceted in nature. Roots are grounded in traditional practices of indigenous cultures around the world that emphasize the values of respect, compassion, dignity, and inclusion of participant voices.
Program Spotlight
'Bout Dat Action > Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Shortly after the pandemic began, our youth began collecting stories using SenseMaker, a tool provided our partners at Palm Health Foundation. These stories helped us understand the impact of COVID-19 and respond. To support this work, Palm Health Foundation created the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund.
